Stunt Fest - Saturday 18th February 2012 at Santa Pod Raceway

The annual February half term, high octane event has been and gone for another year and Stunt Fest 2012 followed suit in being an action packed afternoon of entertainment for all the family despite the best efforts of mother nature. As the gates opened so did the attractions including the Red Dragon Monster Truck Rides, Drift Rides and Fun Fair. Just as the scheduled events were about to kick off performers and spectators alike were faced with a heavy downpour of rain making conditions difficult for those who risked their lives to put on a show. Terry Grant, Broke FMX, Joseph Peace, the Jet Karts and Martin Hill in the FireForce 3 Jet Funny Car all took to the track in the first session to amuse the hard-core onlookers. The Glee tribute act followed on stage singing all the favourite tracks from the hit TV show.

Luckily by the time session 2 in the Live Action Arena came around the rain had stopped and the sun even came out! Terry Grant was first out putting his collection of Stunt Cars through their paces with a number of awesome tricks in the arena followed by Broke FMX who wowed the crowds with their insane tricks including a few backflips! Shortly after an old caravan was conveniently placed in the corner of the arena, cue the return of Martin Hill in FireForce 3 who did the honours and swiftly burnt it to a crisp. After a quick clean up more caravans entered the arena, only this time they were attached to cars who lined up and raced over 5 laps of the arena. As you can imagine there was not a lot left of them at the end of it. What was left however was a running scrap car. Terry Grant returned to the stage to dramatically flip it on its lid. A stunt often only seen through a TV in the movies!

Joseph Peace was next in the line up with his fiery freak show, he entertained the crowds with all sorts from riding a flaming unicycle, jumping through a gate of fire on a push bike and fully enclosing himself in a box on fire!  The grand finale in the arena was performed by our resident monster truck Podzilla who performed some show stopping jumps. For those hanging around, the Glee tribute act took to the stage once more and then it was all eyes to the skies for the Fireworks.
